And you actually made me think of another one, too...I wonder how many of us are "rootbound" in the sense that we are so attached to the things of this world that we aren't ready for eternal glory.  Our roots are so planted in the things of this world that we simply aren't ready to move on to the wonders of eternity with Christ.  That's certainly a kind of rootbound I want to avoid!

I think it's just a corn plant, with the stalk hacked off and the new leaves growing out of it.</description>

I wonder if sometimes we grow root-bound in our lives to the point that we're so tangled up we can't expand anymore in order to grow or deepen. In my life, that's usually the time that God starts building a desire to go somewhere else, do something new - open my heart to what He might bring if I am no longer bound to the place I have sunk my roots. There is blooming where you're planted, and there is restricting His work.
